Stepping into a new phase of life can be daunting and overwhelming. Some (read “I”) have a tendency to hide, to hole up until it all simmers down and all the pieces fall neatly into place. Well, guess what? It never happens that way. This process, these last cuts, life- it all keeps happening. There is a constant flow of settling and unsettling and that is how we learn and grow. If we wait for it to all gel in some fantastical perfection before we engage with others and in the world, we will feel isolated and lonely. Allowing ourselves to be seen by those we know understand and get us as well as opening up to new people in these current iterations creates strength, community and fresh life.
